The Earl Chair is one of Island Luxe's favourites. The Earl was one of Jess Design's very first designs and is the patriarch of a vast family.
It is instantly recognisable by its pillow shape and sleek lines, and is incredibly comfortable thanks to its radius and padding.
Jess's home base has always been in the city of Oss, where their design and production processes are still located—an authentic Dutch product.
LUXOR LEATHER
Luxor is tumbled in a barrel with high-quality aniline dyes. The vacuum drying process creates structural stability, preventing excessive stretching during use. After the skins are turned into crust, a special wax is applied to the grain, giving the leather a very tough appearance. Following this, the leather is spun in a wooden barrel to age the grain. It is then 'plated' until a soft, shiny finish is achieved. Aniline dyes make the leather feel soft and warm. Due to its open structure, leather is sensitive to stains. Light scratches can be removed by hand or with a soft, fluffy cleaning cloth.
OLD GLORY STEEL FRAME
The frames boast distinctive properties and processing tracks that beautifully embody the charm of vintage design. On an Old Glory frame, weld seams and machine marks are intentionally visible, highlighting its authentic character. These frames are crafted to evoke a nostalgic, vintage aesthetic.
